What do you need for Windows 11?
Processor (CPU)
Windows 11 requires a 64-bit processor with:
- Minimum 1 GHz
- 2 or more cores
- Support for TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
Examples of supported CPUs:
- Intel: 8th generation or newer
- AMD: Ryzen 2000 series or newer

Motherboard
Your motherboard must support TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot. Most models from the past 10 years meet these requirements.
Not sure? Look up the model name or check the specifications on the manufacturer's website.
Memory (RAM) & Storage
- Minimum 4 GB RAM
- Minimum 64 GB of storage space
We recommend at least 8 GB of RAM and an SSD for a pleasant user experience.
Video card or integrated GPU
Windows 11 requires support for DirectX 12. You can check this via:
- Press Windows key + R
- Type dxdiag and press Enter
- At the bottom, you can see the current DirectX version
All modern GPUs support DirectX 12:
- Nvidia: starting from the 900 series
- AMD: starting from the RX 570 series
Internet connection
A working internet connection is required to download updates and activate Windows 11.
Conclusie
Not every Windows 10 PC is automatically compatible with Windows 11. Therefore, it is important to check this carefully before attempting to perform an upgrade.
